Do you live with your grandparents?

Do you live in a blended,multi-generational family unit? Better yet,do you know what it is? Well, living in a blended family includes living with your parents and youur grandparents, in the same house. At this time in our society, a lot of people live like this. The reason's can be anything from financial, illness,or a number of things. But, the fact of the matter is,that your parent's are still in charge of you. They have the final say-so in what goes on with you. You shouldn't go to your grandparents about something just because you think your mom or dad is going to say no. I'm pretty sure they have a valid reason for telling you no. I'm a parent, and I don't like telling my kids no, but sometimes it's the best answer.
Now, what are your thoughts on this topic? I'd love to hear your opinion! So, drop me a line or two, or three, lol.

Ghetto-fabulous or Smart n' Sassy

Are you into the hottest clothes and shoes? Do you get excited when Rip The Runway comes on? There's nothing wrong with that.I'm sure you think your swagger is ALL THAT!!! You try to stay fly with the latest hairstyles, and fashion? You're into being a cheerleader, drill team, and things like that, right? You're just what LL used to call an around-the-way girl, and that's cool. But,I'll ask you one thing? Are you taking care of business? Are you sing that swagger to get ahead, and be successful in the future? Well, you should evaluate your interests and parlay them into some career goals. As a black girl or Latina, etc. you already have it hard, so get started earl, right now!

Now, onto the other half of the conversation. Are you into school-work only, and choose to hang with the less popular crowd? Sure, you like to LOOK GOOD, but you think about your book report first, rather than looking through the fashion mags. That's perfectly fine, go ahead, but don't forget to be well-rounded. Top colleges and companies look for diversity in people. You should be open to learning new interests, even if they aren't your norm.

So, whatever style is yours, Ghetto-fabulous or Smart n' Sassy, be you but be willing to grow and learn. No one knows what the future may hold for them.

5 Spring Break Safety Tips

I know by now you are either on your spring break, or finishing it up this week. And maybe some of you hadn't began yours yet. Well, anyway, I hope you remember to keep yourselves safe as you hang out with your friends and family. Remember to stay in groups, even when walking around the corner. You never know who's lurking around the corner, looking for a p.y.t.. Their are some sick people out there, girls! Now matter how GROWN you may be, ALWAYS BEWARE OF STRANGERS!!!

Remember these simple rules when you see a stranger:

1. When someone calls out to you and you don't know them, keep walking.

2. Don't take shortcuts, or walk through hidden paths by yourself.

3. Instead of stopping to help a stranger, use your cell phone and call 911 first, they could be faking it.

4.Never,ever,ever,ever,ever ask for a ride from a stranger.

5. Remember when at a party, let your girls know when you are leaving the area, come up with some sort of code word.
